PÄRT If Bach Were a Beekeeper
Ken Lam, winner of the 2011 Memphis International Conducting Competition, will be guest conductor with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Memphis Symphony Chorus to perform an evening of works both composed by Bach and inspired by Bach. From selected choruses from Bach’s Cantata, to Stravinsky’s Dumbarton Oaks and Arvo Part’s one of-a-kind If Bach Were a Beekeeper, the audience will see many sides of Bach in a unique musical offering. “If Bach had been a beekeeper … he would have heard … all those notes … suspended above one another … in the air of his ear (Charles Tomlinson).”
All Paul & Linnea Bert Classic Accents performances include a complimentary post-concert reception for patrons to mingle with each other and the artists. Please plan to join us.
