Family Tunes & Tales

Family Tunes and Tales is a series of free concerts at public libraries for families with children. The experience engages the listening skills of children as they enjoy a storybook reading and craft activities which tie back to the book. Memphis Symphony Orchestra chamber ensembles representing one of four different sections of the orchestra - strings, brass, woodwind and percussion - will visit seven different libraries.

We extend our sincere thanks to the members of the Junior League of Memphis who supply and coordinate the craft activities, and to the librarians for narrating the books. Family Tunes and Tales is made possible by the generosity of The First Tennessee Foundation, the Junior League of Memphis, and by the Thomas W. Briggs Foundation.

The upcoming concerts in this series are listed below.  Click here to view a pdf of the 2010 Winter/Spring schedule with a listing of books, locations, and ensembles.   For more information call (901) 537-2525.
